AIR-nominated Nashville-based singer-songwriter Imogen Clark heads back to Australia this November for The Art of Getting Through tour, celebrating her acclaimed new album by returning to her home country for full band shows this November.
From a teenage girl playing the pubs of Western Sydney to recording at Abbey Road in London and making the move to Nashville Tennessee, Imogen's journey as an artist and woman is a testament to her passion, dedication and drive to connect, to share her stories and hard-won life lessons with people around the world.
From a childhood devouring Led Zeppelin and The Violent Femmes to embracing the folk storytelling of Joni Mitchell in her teen years to the vibrant personal pop of HAIM and Maggie Rogers in her 20's, Imogen has been a restless creative force, interpolating different influences and growing into her own unique musical force. It's this eclecticism and emotional depth that has drawn collaborators from Gang of Youths to Elvis Costello's Imposters, members of My Morning Jacket and Dawes to Alex Lahey and Colin Hay, to roots legends Jim Lauderdale and Steve Poltz, to seek her out as a co-writer and in the studio.
This tour sees Imogen and herband create a spellbinding night of music and emotion, showcasing songs from throughout her career - fist pumpingand tear-spilling in equal measure - and some suprise covers and collabs. Don't miss one of Australian Music's most exciting exports in a rare homecoming show.
