Kenyan born Elsy Wameyo has emerged as a force to be reckoned with in recent years, a chameleonic artist pouring life’s lessons and experiences into dynamic pieces of art. 2022 saw the release of her long-awaited debut EP, Nilotic, a self-produced six-track fusion of soul-infused hip-hop and alt-R&B praised by The Guardian, Acclaim, NME, Fashion Journal, & Complex for its incisive lyrics and impressive production. The EP was a moment of arrival that took home six awards at the South Australia Music Awards. Elsy cut her teeth as a spirited performer alongside the likes of Sampa The Great and Aminé; as well as earning early cosigns from artists such as Tierra Whack and Tyler the Creator. The young artist embarked on international tours throughout Europe; following her appearances at a sold out run of Australian arenas. 2024 has brought her to a new creative touchstone, a place of reclamation and self-empowerment - Elsy Wameyo’s debut studio album, Saint Sinner.
