Bonded through heartfelt music and somber themes, Canberra-based Indie-pop act Sesame Girl, have been climbing the ranks to be crowned Canberra’s next national act. A project by Heather Duncan, Sesame Girl began playing shows in early 2020. Wasting no time at all, they’ve been steadily gaining traction along the east coast supporting the likes of DZ Deathrays, Spacey Jane and Moaning Lisa within a matter of months. Additionally, Sesame Girl are fresh off an east coast tour with Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, and are selling out Multiple shows of their own. Sesame Girl define their influence as both 90s and 80s alt-rock, with contemporary acts such as Beach House, Clairo and Soccer Mommy. Combining this with the band’s theme of heartache, energetic riffs, and dreamy vocals, they are sure to be established amongst the greats.
