Tokyo Sexwale

Tokyo Sexwale are the South African-born, Sydney-based brothers known for their infectious energy and genre-blurring sets. Over the past five years, they’ve evolved from house party hero’s to an in-demand act across some of Australia’s most respected and loved venues & festivals. With an eclectic bag of tracks to pull from, Tokyo Sexwale have garnered a reputation for effortlessly dancing between genres with sets flowing through House, 90’s House/Balearic, Progressive, Acid, Italo, Disco-funk, and beyond. Their diverse, ever evolving sound and energy allows them to seamlessly fit into any room, stage, party or festival. That versatility has seen them grace some of Sydney’s most iconic stages & parties including The Abercrombie, S.A.S.H, Chinese Laundry, Lost Sundays, Carousel, Sutra Sunrise, and The Island, as well as Melbourne’s Glamorama, Section 8,and Byron’s Paradiso. The boys have also made their mark on the festival circuit with repeat performances at Lost Paradise. Internationally, they’ve brought their sound to dance floors in NYC, London, San Diego, San Francisco, Fiji, and Nicaragua. Along the way the duo have earned support slots alongside some of the scene’s most respected names, including Roger Sanchez, Moxie, SG Lewis, Chloé Caillet, Sarah Story, Sammy Virji, Stacey Pullen, Fish56octagon, Luke Alessi, and Anna Lunoe. With a background in film composition and production – including scores for Australian Fashion Week, short films, and commercials – the duo are now channeling their production skills to establish Tokyo Sexwale’s sound. Having already put out a few sought after edits, expect a string of original productions set to roll out in their near future. Beyond the decks, Ryan & Dane are head honchos behind ‘House Plant’, the thriving music collective dedicated to championing local talent, building community, and showcasing the ever evolving sounds of dance music. Through their parties, venue takeovers, and a visually striking live mix series, House Plant has carved out a distinct space in Sydney’s dance music landscape, amassing a loyal following, making them a household name in the scene.
